Education, Training, and Advocacy Program Officer

About this Role

The Education, Training and Advocacy Program Officer ensures the delivery of Education, Training and Advocacy projects in partner countries including administration, logistics coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting activities under the guidance and supervision of the ETA Projects Director, working directly with national and international implementation partners.

What You Will Contribute

• Collaborate with the Education, Training, and Advocacy Projects Director and International Programs (Senior Director of Education, Training and Advocacy and Senior Director of Programs Design & Evaluation) to support project(s) development including creation of concept papers and project proposals.  

• Ensure practical coordination, implementation, and monitoring of assigned project(s) activities to meet expected results. 

• Facilitate project(s) budget and financial management including monthly submission of receipts according to the ship finance processes.  

• Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the project team, implementing partners and project beneficiaries. 

• Maintain close coordination with project partners to ensure synergies and avoid overlaps in project(s) implementation.  

• Collaborate with PDMELD for the implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans and all necessary project documentation including project plans, partnership agreements, and final reports. 

• Work together with the MEL Specialist to collect data at pre-agreed intervals, generate reports and deliver regular reflective reviews with implementing partners.  

• Monitor progress towards achieving project(s) goals.  

• Ensure that records of all Education, Training, and Advocacy projects are well-maintained and reported on time.  

• Prepare internal and final reports on projects in conjunction with the Education, Training, and Advocacy Projects Director in a timely manner, according to project reporting cycles. 

• Ensure project(s) learning is documented by the team in an effective way to ensure continuous improvement.  

• In collaboration with the Education, Training, and Advocacy Projects Director, maintain relationships with host governments, Ministries of Health, Hospital Directors, national partners, and other non-government organizations involved in projects.  

• Develop national staff in administration, financial management and project management skills to support their career development. 

• Write and create content for internal communication describing Education, Training, and Advocacy projects to help share the work of International Programs. 

For This Role, You Will Need

• Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated project management experience in resource-constrained environments.  

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience) in international development, public health, management, or related field.  

• Project Management certificate preferred, but not required.  

• Experience with process and project development and implementation.  

• Understanding best practice in the design and implementation of projects within resource-constrained settings. 

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects from creation to completion, plan and prioritize multiple deliverables, and coordinate to meet deadlines.

• Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity, and demonstrate accountability.

• Must possess cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.

• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. 

• Must be fluent in English. 

• Full, clean driving license with at least five years of driving experience. May be expected to drive as part of responsibilities. 

• International Driver’s License required.
